Hi Lieven,
Looks like the "Disable DEM Printer Mappings during logon" policy setting did not get applied. If it had been, there would have been a
[DEBUG] Disabled DEM actions: Printer Mapping (during logon)
message in the log. Also, the log shows that the printers were processed during the normal logon:
2020-08-21 07:45:43.995 [INFO ] Starting FlexEngine v10.0.0.945 [IFP#44857c0e-T5>>] 2020-08-21 07:45:43.995 [INFO ] Running as Group Policy client-side extension 2020-08-21 07:45:43.995 [INFO ] Performing path-based import [...] 2020-08-21 07:45:51.544 [DEBUG] Processed 98 DEM printer mappings (3 scheduled, 77 skipped, 18 disabled)
Elevated task: the DEM logs indeed seem to indicate that the logon task ran successfully, as well as the elevated task itself. I'd suggest to have your batch file redirect its output and error output to a log somewhere, to see if that helps identify what's going on here.
Which build number did you install? There is a known bug in ESXi U3 and UEFI mode. The workarounds are in the link below:
Mission accomplished - but we did not manage to do it over night
Oh well, a polar night is also a night ;-)

Hi SMcT and vRon. I am now observing the same NSX Manager loop during a vCF 4.0.1 bringup. Did you ever find a resolution to your issue?
Mine is not password related either (4.0.1 input spreadsheet has prevalidation for this).
Cheers.
Hello,
I'm running macOS Catalina 10.15.6 (19G2021) and I'm trying to shrink the main disk of my Ubuntu VM.
I use the command "sudo vmware-toolbox-cmd disk shrink /" and after a short time macOS crashes and restarts.
After the restart of macOS I see the following error in apple error report: "watchdog timeout: no checkins from watchdogd in 90 seconds"
I can also provoke this error when I use the following command in the Ubuntu VM "dd bs=1G count=20 if=/dev/zero of=./blanko" or when using zerofree program in the VM
It also happens with above dd command and a smaller count like 5 but executed multiple times after the command finishes..
I get this error on both my iMac late 2015 and MacBook Pro 2015 both have macOS Catalina 10.15.6 (19G2021) installed and VMWare Fusion Pro 11.15.6 (16696540).
In both cases (iMac and MacBook Pro) the SSDs are encrypted with FileVault and also all SSDs use APFS as filesystem.
Can anybody else reproduce this problem and if so does anybody have an idea howto workaround this to shrink the VM hdd?
BTW when shrinking my Windows VMs this doesn't happen but there I only tried the shrinking option when VM isn't booted, I didn't try the above command in a running VM.
I researched this it says to delete snapshots, is there another method that can be used to get this function back?
info hard disk 1, thin prov. storage default, disk file xxxx.vmdk
thx for the feedback.
Hello MC1903
Thanks for highlighting this and also fair play to you for figuring it out faster than your average bear likely could
We will aim to open a feature request PR for this this week (weather permitting as I am just back from holidays and likely going to have backlog of duties).
Being it part of the pre-check/wizard aside, I feel that at the least the error message could provide more information than it did here e.g. stating to update the vDS before re-attempting as opposed to fairly generic 'dvsconfigissue' (but at least it points in the right direction).

Dear all,
in my configuration there is an ESXi 6.7U2 server and I'd like to pass through an NVIDIA NVS310 to my VMs. The GPU card is a PCIe x16 and it is installed on the PCIe x8 slot in my HPe Proliant Microserver Gen10.
The GPU card is recognized by the ESXi and is also visible in the vSphere GUI. When I enable GPU PCIe passthrough it is active/ reboot necessary. In the esx.conf it is visible that passthrough for the GPU card is enabled. The passthrough is only possible when the audio HD also is passed through.
/device/00000:003:00.0/owner = "passthru"
/device/00000:003:00.0/device = "107d"
/device/00000:003:00.0/vendor = "10de"
/device/00000:003:00.1/vendor = "10de"
/device/00000:003:00.1/device = "e08"
/device/00000:003:00.1/owner = "passthru"
After rebooting the server the GPU card is in the disabled state again and the configuration is not visible in the esx.conf anymore.
What can be done to keep the GPU card enabled after reboot?
Hello VMWare Community,
After searching everywhere I still cannot find a 'simple' answer on a 'simple' question. I like to run Microsoft Server 2019 (NOT Windows but Server) on macOS, but I cannot find the information to see if that is possible with VMWare or not.
Thanks in advance!
With VMware Fusion or ESXi (if supported), sure it is.
Usual reasons for a grayed out disk size are snapshots (which doesn't seem to be the case here), or disk on virtual IDE controllers.
To find out other possible reasons, the VM's vmware.log file might help.
André
... some questions.
IIRC resizing a virtual disk larger than 2TB required downtime in some older versions.
André
That's weird.
macOS 10.15.6 (19G2021) would mean that you already applied the patch for the kernel leak.
It would probably be a good idea to also mention what Ubuntu version you are running and the kernel version of that ubuntu VM.
Attaching the vmware.log file(s) from the VM and mentioning the time of the host crash might also help in diagnosing the issue.
You can attach the logs via the attach button in the bottom right of the reply window here.

I already used the Legacy Bios but did not work
Hi,
Is this Full Screen or are you using Unity (FWIW, unity is much less performant)
Are you perhaps using the stretch option on your display settings?

Luc, there is very little consistency. Notes can contain up to 10 lines but have as few as 0.
